Kush Garg

Software Engineer @ AWS, Entrepreneur, and CS Grad from Berkeley.

As a computer scientist I've explored everything from video game development to robotic systems control theory. I love to tinker, modify, and build whatever I can. I have a knack for being able to quickly understand a complex problem from the ground up and can easily become engrossed in an interesting project. Talk to me about Web Apps, Fintech, and Hardware Level Security. I push myself to learn more and more everyday.

Experience

Software Development Engineer

AWS - Amazon Q

October 2024 - Present

Software Engineering Intern

AWS - Code Whisperer Team

May 2023 - August 2023

Software Engineering Intern

AwS - Search Team

As a software engineer on an AWS search team, I played a pivotal role in developing and deploying a cutting-edge topic prediction service. I leveraged my expertise in TypeScript to design and implement a sleek front-end, while also building a robust REST API using Rust, JavaScript, and Python to support the service's functionality. I successfully deployed the service to production, resulting in increased search accuracy. My service and other tasks completed will serve as a foundation for features in the team's future roadmap. My technical skills and problem-solving abilities have been instrumental in driving the team's future success and as a result, I was offered a return offer for the following summer shortly upon exit.

Software Engineering Intern

Think Surgical Inc. - TCAT Team

Identified model for identifying faults prior to surgery for all robotic systems at Think. Directed technical study investigating critical sensor failures occurring mid-surgery. Critical in ensuring reliability of high impact sensor devices. Examined solutions to detect failures. Built a prototype detector at the driver level to identify data fluctuations. Developed C++ application for testing & validating sensor communication.

Interests

Apart from being a web developer, I enjoy most of my time being outdoors. During the warmer months here in California, I enjoy mountain biking, scuba diving, camping and kayaking.

One of my favorite activities is robotics. Whether I am building for a competition, trying to make a tennisball launcher, hack an RC car, or making something just for fun I love designing, building, and coding each and every part. I would like to someday found a robotics company that specializes in fighting fires called: Firestorm Technologies.

When forced away from my laptop, I follow a number of sci-fi and fantasy genre movies and television shows, I am an aspiring chef, and I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest technology advancements in astronomy, robotics, and programming.

If you would like 1v1 me in Basketball, please send me an email with the subject: "PICK UP CHALLENGE" and I will respond to a reasonable request in abotu 5 business days.
